Ofsted's Annual Report (December 2022) identified that "Staff in key stages 2 and 3 need expertise in teaching phonics to address weaknesses in reading." In response to this, Outwood English Hub is delivering a session on phonics subject knowledge for secondary staff. 

The online session is aimed at any secondary member of staff that leads or delivers early reading lessons. 

Please note, this session is not training for a specific systematic synthetic phonics programme, but a development of subject knowledge on early reading.
